The benefit

Why venetian blinds convince in the workspace

In the study, hobby or sewing room good light matters — bright enough for detail, but without glare and reflections. That is exactly what aluminium venetian blinds provide.

Anti-glare protection Venetian blind as glare protection in the home office

Glare-free at the workstation

Reflections on the screen, workpiece or paper disappear as soon as you tilt the slats — the daylight stays. This way you work relaxed and focused, even when the sun is low.

Detailed work Precise light dosing for detailed work at the workbench

Dose the light precisely

For detailed work you need plenty of but even light. Via the slat angle you control the brightness steplessly and direct the daylight to where you need it.

Privacy protection Venetian blind as privacy screening in the study

Privacy & calm

Closed slats keep curious eyes out and create a calm working atmosphere — without darkening the room completely.

Robust & wipeable

Dust, shavings or paint splashes? Aluminium slats you simply wipe off with a damp cloth. Dimensionally stable and hard-wearing — made for rooms where work gets done.

Also worth considering: Where it occasionally needs to be really dark for working — for photography or a lunch break, say — a Blackout roller blind complements the venetian blind ideally.

Buying advice

How to find the right venetian blind for your workspace

In the workspace the Light comes first. Aluminium venetian blinds are ideal here because they don't just shut out daylight but dose it: via the slat angle you steplessly control how much light enters and from which direction — decisive when reflections on the screen or workpiece are a nuisance.

For the slat width the following applies: 25 mm is the all-rounder. On small windows in sewing or craft rooms 16 mm looks finer, on large workshop windows 50 mm gives a calm look with a clear view.

On robustness: in rooms with dust, shavings or moisture aluminium plays to its strengths. The slats are dimensionally stable, corrosion-resistant and wipeable with a damp cloth — no taking down, no washing. This makes the venetian blind the ideal covering for a hobby workshop, studio and home office.

And on the Installation: in the reveal the worktop by the window stays free, in front of the recess the venetian blind covers more generously. With clamp brackets it works on many windows without any drilling — handy when the workspace is in a rented flat.

  • Control the amount and direction of light steplessly via the slat angle
  • Aluminium: insensitive to dust and moisture, wipeable with a damp cloth
  • Slat widths 16 / 25 / 50 mm for small to large windows
  • Mounting inside the reveal, in front of the recess or without drilling on the sash

Frequently asked questions

Venetian blinds in the workroom — what you should know

Why a venetian blind and not a roller blind in the workspace? +

Because the venetian blind doses the light instead of merely shielding it: with the slat angle you steplessly adjust brightness and light direction — ideal for avoiding reflections on a screen or work surface. A roller blind is either up or down; the venetian blind can do everything in between.

Is aluminium suitable for a workshop or hobby room? +

Very much so. Aluminium slats are dimensionally stable, corrosion-resistant and wipeable with a damp cloth — dust, shavings or paint splashes are easy to remove. This makes the venetian blind more robust than any fabric covering.

Can I also darken the workspace with it? +

Venetian blinds darken strongly, but a fine rim of light remains at the slat edges. If you occasionally need it really dark — for photography, say — combine the venetian blind with a Blackout roller blind.

Which slat width suits a small study? +

For small windows the 16 mm slat looks finest and most delicate. 25 mm is the robust all-rounder for most rooms, 50 mm suits large workroom windows.

What does a made-to-measure venetian blind cost? +

That depends on window size, slat width and operation. In the Venetian blind configurator you can calculate a guide price for your dimensions in a few clicks — no registration needed. A binding quotation follows at the home consultation.
