Buying advice

How to find the right venetian blind for the bedroom

For the bedroom the venetian blind is often underrated — yet it is strong in two disciplines: privacy and light control. Closed horizontally the slats are opaque, so that you are undisturbed in the evening. Via the slat angle you dose the light steplessly in the morning, from darkness to soft grazing light.

Honestly: a venetian blind does not black out to 100 % — a fine seam of light remains at the slat edges. Those who are very light-sensitive or work shifts therefore combine the venetian blind with a blackout curtain or a guided roller blind. The venetian blind then handles the fine light control by day, the second layer the darkness at night.

Practical is the compact design: mounted inside the reveal the venetian blind takes up hardly any space, leaves the sill free and even fits small bedrooms. With clamp brackets, mounting works on many windows entirely without drilling — ideal in rented flats.

At the colour shade light, calm tones have a soothing effect and make the room appear larger, dark ones set accents. Aluminium is also wipeable and hard-wearing — an easy-care companion for the bedroom.

  • Opaque when closed — fine light control via the slat angle
  • Can be combined with a curtain or roller blind for full darkness
  • Compact in the reveal — also mountable on the sash without drilling
  • Aluminium: wipeable, hard-wearing, easy-care

Frequently asked questions

Venetian blinds for the bedroom — what you should know

Does a venetian blind black out the bedroom completely? +

No — it darkens strongly, but a fine seam of light remains at the slat edges. For nearly complete darkness combine the venetian blind with a blackout curtain or guided roller blind.

Does the venetian blind offer enough privacy in the bedroom? +

Yes. Closed horizontally the slats are completely opaque — nothing can be seen from outside. In the morning you simply tilt them open and let light in.

Can I mount the venetian blind without drilling? +

On many plastic and wood-aluminium windows, yes: with Clamp brackets the venetian blind is fixed directly to the sash — without drilling, leaving no residue. Ideal for rented flats. Alternatively we mount inside the reveal.

Which colour suits the bedroom? +

Light, calm tones have a soothing effect and make the room appear larger, dark ones set accents. You choose from the entire LEHA colour range — we show samples at the consultation.

What does a venetian blind for the bedroom cost? +

That depends on window size, slat width and operation. In the Venetian blind configurator you can calculate a guide price — no registration needed. A binding quotation follows at the home consultation.
