Frequently asked questions about bathroom pleated blinds

Can a pleated blind cope with the damp in a bathroom?

Yes — for the bathroom I choose fabrics suitable for damp rooms. They do not mind steam and can simply be rinsed off and dried fully extended.

Can people see in from outside in the evening?

Not with the right fabric: privacy fabrics let daylight in but keep views out — I will show you the difference even with the bathroom light on.

Do I have to drill into the tiles?

No. Clamped to the window sash, it needs not a single hole — neither in the frame nor in the tiles.

How to operate your bathroom pleated blind

Stops exactly where you let go

You slide the bathroom pleated blind up or down by the handle — and it stays in any height you like stop. From the top, from the bottom or free in the middle: you control light and view steplessly, with no fixed notches.

Pleated blind free in the middle of the window: the view outside stays clear above and below.
Free in the middlePrivacy at eye level, light above and below.
Pleated blind pulled down from the top: the upper part of the window is shaded, the view stays clear below.
From the topShaded at the top, clear view below.
Pleated blind raised from the bottom: the lower part of the window is opaque, daylight comes in above.
From the bottomOpaque at the bottom, full daylight above.
Pleated blind fully closed: the fabric covers the window completely.
Fully closedWindow completely covered, full privacy.

At the tensioned bathroom pleated blind the fabric runs between two rails — it holds in any position, on a skylight too. On request we supply it with a motor and radio remote control; simply ask us.

Frequently asked questions

Pleated blinds for the bathroom — what you should know

What does a made-to-measure bathroom pleated blind cost? +

The price depends on window size, fabric and type of installation. In the Online configurator you can work out your price yourself straight away — no registration needed. We do the measuring on site free of charge.

How do I clean my bathroom pleated blind? +

The bathroom pleated blind is easy to take down for cleaning — then rinse it gently in the shower with lukewarm water and let it dry fully extended. Day to day, careful dusting is enough.

Take the bathroom pleated blind down, rinse it with lukewarm water using the shower head and let it dry fully extended. Day to day, dusting is enough.

How long is the warranty? +

5-year warranty on the mechanism (directly from LEHA), plus 2 years on the fabric and the installation. If anything isn’t right during this time, we take care of it free of charge.

What happens if something isn’t right? +

If anything isn’t as agreed in the quote, we come to your home free of charge, take a look on site and replace it. No discussion.

How long does delivery take? +

After ordering and confirmation of the measurements, delivery takes around 3 weeks. Then we arrange an installation appointment to suit you.

Opaque where it matters — bright where it does you good +

Bathroom windows often face the house next door or the street. A pleated blind can be adjusted from the top and the bottom: the lower half stays opaque while daylight still comes in above — made to measure for your bathroom window and, on request, without drilling. In the configurator you see your price in 2 minutes. Not sure how opaque the fabric should be? Order free samples first and hold them up to your bathroom window.

Protected from prying eyes — without a dark bathroom +

A bathroom should be private — but a permanently dark room is no solution either. This is exactly where the pleated blind is strong: the folded fabric protects against prying eyes while letting soft daylight in. Because the pleated blind and can be adjusted from below, you free up the upper part of the window for light while the lower half stays opaque — ideal when the bathroom window faces the street or the house next door.

How much light should come into the bathroom? +

From airy sheer fabric to blackout — for bathrooms most customers choose semi-sheer or opaque qualities. Maximum brightness, softly breaking the light — but the privacy screening is only discreet. Suitable for a bathroom only where there is no direct view in. The classic for a bathroom: reliably protects against being seen during the day and lets in plenty of diffuse daylight.

The right fabric for a damp room +

In a bathroom, steam, changes in temperature and little air circulation all come together. That is why looks are not the only thing that counts here: the fabric should keep its shape and be easy to cleon. The LEHA collection of over 400 fabrics includes many smooth, easy-care qualities that suit this. We check which version is suitable based on the fabric you have chosen and the conditions in the room — for example how well your bathroom is ventilated and whether the pleated blind hangs directly above the shower or bath. The easiest way to decide is with a real sample: Order a free fabric sample or at the Home consultation compared right there in the bathroom.

Fixing to the bathroom window +

Bathroom windows are often small, permanently tilted and made of plastic. Mounting directly on the window sash has proven itself — screwed into the glazing bead or onto the frame. This keeps the pleated blind close to the glass and follows every movement of the window. Without drilling: On many bathroom windows a drill-free installation with a clamp bracket or adhesive strip is also possible — whether this works on your window depends on the frame, seals and opening type. All the details on the page Pleated blind without drilling.

How to keep your bathroom pleated blind looking good +

Particularly practical in a bathroom: the pleated blind is easy to take down for cleaning — entirely without tools. After showering, air the room briefly and let the pleated blind dry fully extended — that way no moisture can stay in the fabric. Dust it carefully now and then or vacuum it with the soft brush attachment — usually that is all it takes.

Matching your tiles, fittings and style +

Light shades such as white, cream and soft grey make small bathrooms look larger and suit almost any tile colour. If you like accents, go for warm sand and taupe tones or a strong contrast to a light bathroom. The LEHA collection includes plain colours, fine textures and patterns — from discreet to expressive. At the home consultation we hold the samples right up to your window, in the real light of your bathroom.

More privacy for your bathroom? +

We come by with fabric samples, check your bathroom window and take the measurements straight away — free of charge in the canton of Zurich.

Pleated blinds in the bathroom — what you should know +

For a bathroom, smooth, dimensionally stable and easy-care fabrics are the best choice, usually semi-sheer or opaque. Which fabric suits you exactly depends on your room: we check which version is suitable based on the fabric you have chosen and the conditions in the room — such as ventilation and proximity to the shower or bath. Yes — that is the strength of the pleated blind. Semi-sheer fabrics let in plenty of diffuse light while protecting against being seen. You can also open the pleated blind from the top: the upper part of the window brings light in, the lower part stays closed. On many bathroom windows, yes — with a clamp bracket or special adhesive strip. Whether that is possible on your window depends on the frame, the seals and how it opens; we check that on site. All the versions are explained on the page Pleated blind without drilling.
