Tensioned between two rails, movable by two handles from below as well as above — the blind stays close to the glass even with the skylight tilted open, and you decide where light comes in. For VELUX, Roto and other special types. I check the window type, deliver and install. Free home consultation throughout the canton of Zurich.
There is no instant online price for this: skylight pleated blinds are special orders made by window type. Send me a photo of the type plate and I will work out the quote for you — free and without obligation.
It is on a plate in the sash frame — visible as soon as you open the skylight. A photo of it is all I need for the quote. We supply blinds for VELUX, Roto and other special types.
Both run guided at the sides. The difference is the operation: the pleated blind has two handles and can be moved from below as well as from above — so you cover the lower half and let light in at the top. The roller blind comes only from above.
Fabrics with a light pearl-reflective backing throw part of the solar radiation back, and a honeycomb pleated blind adds a further air chamber in front of the glass. Honestly: external sun protection works better, because it catches the heat before it comes through the glass — internally, this is the solution that needs no work on the roof.

Skylight pleated blinds are special orders — which is why there is no instant online price here. The price depends on the window type, the tensioning and the fabric — a honeycomb blind costs more than a simple pleated fabric. Send me a photo of the type plate and I will work out the quote — free and without obligation. more
Dusting or a quick vacuum is enough — the folds sit neatly in the side rails.

Frequently asked questions
Because skylights are not made to free measurements: VELUX and Roto have their own frame geometries and, depending on the year of construction, different size codes. We therefore make them by window type and work out a Quote — a photo of the type plate is enough. Measuring on site is free of charge.
On a skylight it is enough to use Dusting or a quick vacuum with a soft brush, and dab with a barely damp cloth if needed — without creasing the folds. Wipe out the guide rails occasionally so the blind runs smoothly. We replace damaged fabric individually — the rails and mechanism stay in place.
Dust or vacuum it, and do not crease the folds. The fabric can be replaced on its own.
There is 5 years on the LEHA technology and 2 years on fabric and installation, guide rails included. Should a defect appear within that time, we remedy it free of charge.
If the blind does not match the quote, we drive to you free of charge, inspect it and replace it. No discussion.
As a special order, delivery after a confirmed quote currently takes a few weeks — we calculate it up to date. Then we arrange an installation appointment to suit you.
From a tensioned honeycomb blind against the summer heat to blackout for sleeping under the slope — four ways for your skylight.
On a skylight one thing matters above all: the blind has to hold on the slope and must not sag. We make all four solutions to the millimetre — here you can see when each one is right. The solution for the slope: two profile rails and side tension wires guide the blind, Tension shoes and intermediate brackets hold it firmly at any height. So the pleated blind stays where you leave it — it does not slide down, not even on a steep pitch. The biggest lever in the attic: the double honeycomb structure forms a a cushion of air right against the glass. In summer the fierce roof heat stays outside, in winter the heating stays in. Noticeably cooler rooms under the slope — and lower heating bills.
On a skylight there is one rule that does not apply to a vertical window: the blind has to defy gravity. A free-hanging pleated blind would simply sag down on a slope. The solution is called tensioned pleated blind: the top and bottom rails run on two side tension wires, and Tension shoes and intermediate brackets hold the blind under tension. So it stays in any position — half open, fully open, fully closed — and does not slip. That is exactly what makes the pleated blind the first choice for a skylight. The second and often most important point under a roof is the Heat. No room heats up as fast in summer as the attic — the sun stands steeply on the glass. Here the Honeycomb blind (Duette) the biggest lever: its double honeycomb structure encloses a cushion of air right against the pane and keeps radiant heat out. In winter the same cushion works the other way round and holds the heating warmth back in the room. Anyone living under a roof feels this difference most clearly. Third: Blackout. Attic bedrooms get light early because the window faces up at the sky. With a Blackout honeycomb pleated blind you bring the darkness back — the light-tight honeycombs shut out the morning sun, guided under tension only a minimal light gap remains at the edge. Ideal for the bedroom and for the children's room where daytime naps are taken.
No call centre, no anonymous online shop: I come to you in person in the canton of Zurich, look at your skylight and its pitch, take exact measurements on the slope and show you fabric samples — from insulating honeycomb blinds to blackout. On a sloping window in particular, every millimetre counts for a taut fit. No call centre, no anonymous online shop. A tensioned pleated blind holds on any slope. The top and bottom rails run on two side tension wires, Tension shoes and intermediate brackets hold the blind under tension. As a result it stays in any position — half open, fully open or closed — and does not sag. That is exactly why the tensioned pleated blind is the right choice on a sloping skylight. On many skylights, yes. The rails are fitted with clamp or screw brackets directly on the window sash fastened — on suitable models entirely without drilling and without residue. This is ideal for rented flats and lacquered plastic frames. Which fastening your window allows is best clarified during the Home consultation right there on site. Yes — most effectively the Honeycomb blind (Duette). Its double honeycomb structure encloses a cushion of air right against the pane and keeps the steep summer sun out; in winter the same cushion holds the heating warmth back in the room. In an attic, where rooms heat up fastest, that is the biggest lever. Tip: keep it closed in strong sun so the room does not heat up in the first place.
