Does a Roman blind get in the way when tilting the window?

No, not if it is fitted correctly. Mounted on the ceiling or the lintel instead of the sash, the handle stays clear and the window can be tilted open. I will see how that works at your place when measuring.

How close may the fabric come to the hob?

As far away as possible. Textiles have no place above a hob — there the Roman blind is either kept short or a different solution goes at the window. I will tell you on site what is reasonable in your kitchen.

What does a kitchen Roman blind cost in Zurich?

Kitchen windows are usually small — but fabric, measurements and mechanism still decide. After the free home consultation you receive a fixed quote.

In a kitchen, what counts is what can be taken down and washed — and a shade that suits your units and worktop. To the free home consultation I bring the samples and hold them up against your kitchen units.

A note on the blackout fabrics: “100 % blackout” refers to the fabric — no light passes through the fabric itself. A Roman blind hangs freely in horizontal folds, however, so a fine rim of light remains at the fold edges and at the sides of the window.

How short should a Roman blind be in a kitchen? +

In most kitchens it ends just above the worktop or at windowsill height. That keeps the surface clear, the fabric never comes into contact with water or grease, and you can raise it without moving anything. I measure on site exactly where the edge should sit.

How do I care for a Roman blind in the kitchen? +

Here it pays to have a fabric that is removable and washable is — kitchen fumes settle over time. Day to day, dusting is enough; dab stains only with a barely damp cloth. Whether your weave can go in the machine, and at what temperature, I will tell you once you have chosen the fabric.

How long is the warranty? +

5 years on the mechanism (directly from LEHA), 2 years on fabric and installation. In a kitchen it is pulled every day — if something breaks in that time, we come by free of charge.

What happens if something isn’t right? +

If the Roman blind we deliver differs from the quote — wrong fabric, wrong measurements, a crooked seam — we come free of charge and replace it. No discussion.

How long does delivery take? +

As soon as the fabric and measurements are confirmed, your Roman blind goes to the workroom. The current delivery time is shown at the top of the page; fitting at a kitchen window usually takes less than an hour.

Why Roman blinds suit the kitchen +

The Roman blind brings fabric and warmth to a kitchen window without being bulky. As it is raised it settles into soft folds — decorative but space-saving.
